Water quality of an Aquarium

Aquatics_Image.jpgWater quality of the marine environment is essential to prevent stress or disease of reef inhabitants. Regular monitoring of the pH, conductivity and temperature is required.

We do not in any way claim to be aquarists, so our information is very brief. We do however manufacture robust instruments that may support your quest for high quality water!

pH

Fresh water fish species live within a range of 5.5 - 8.5pH. Marines or reef tanks require a pH of 7.8 - 8.3.

Conductivity

A standard target of conductivity is 53mS/cm or 1.0264 Specific Gravity or 35ppt which follows what natural ocean water is.

Temperature

A suitable target for a reef tank is 76 - 83°F. High and low temperatures effect the metabolic rates of the animals as well as oxygen levels.

Please check the technical specifications of our products to ensure that they are suitable for YOUR marine inhabitants!
